UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST POLITY IMMERSION at GA

Our setting at General Assembly will allow us to move beyond mere history towards an understanding of what it takes to be an effective and responsible political actor in contemporary UU settings.

MAFTIRIM INTENSIVE
Berkeley, CA, Aug 15-19. Instructor: Ibrahim Farajajé
Week-long course on “maftirim”, a form of sacred music that grew out of the encounter of Turkish Jewish and Mevlevi Sufi traditions in the Ottoman Empire.

FORGIVENESS

Development of “forgiveness practices” and interpersonal forgiveness, drawing on Judaism, Christianity, Islam and Buddhism as well as positive psychology, poetry, and neuroscience.

Explore the theory and practice of adult faith formation. Participants may develop unique adult faith development programming that they could implement in their congregations.

DYNAMIC YOUTH MINISTRY

Geared particularly toward Unitarian Universalists, but open to all, this course seeks to embody a vision of youth ministry that is a vibrant, robust, and flexible part of every congregation.

PROMISED LANDS and IMMIGRANTS

Understanding the different realities of immigrants, focusing on the cases of Latina/o immigrants in the United States and Japan in relation to their experiences of faith, ethnicity and gender.
