All grads, honorary degree recipients and current students and trustees are invited to the Graduates’ Reception, 4:30pm–7pm, on Friday, June 27th in the Deer Valley Room, Marriott, 75 SW Temple. SKSM grad Rev. Rob Eller-Isaacs is the featured speaker.

Don’t miss this year’s Starr King President’s Lecturer, Rev. Dr. Susan Ritchie, on Saturday, June 27, from 5:15pm–6:30pm, Salt Palace – Ballroom FH. Titled “Children of the Same God”, Dr. Ritchie will explore Unitarianism in Europe, which emerged as a defense of the kinship between Christianity, Islam, and Judaism and encouraged creative multi-religious encounters. She will show how this dynamic within North American UUism reveals possibilities for our often beleaguered sense of identity.

jodi-tharanFinally, we offer congratulations to Jodi Tharan, 2nd year student at Starr King School, on receiving a grant from the Marjorie Bowens-Wheatley funding program of the UU Women’s Federation. Jodi was among four women to receive the grant which supports female aspirants to the Unitarian Universalist ministry who identify as people of color, Latina or Hispanic. Jodi will be presented with the grant award at General Assembly on Saturday, June 27, from 11am – 12:15 pm, Salt Palace 255A.

Correction to our May Snapshot — Starr King School celebrated the graduation of 19 students in May – a “compelling cast of UU leaders” as we called them. We wish to lift up that our graudating class includes leaders in multiple faith traditions.
