Beauty, hope, spiritual fluidity, and 20 years of Rev. Dr. Rebecca Parker’s pioneering leadership at Starr King School – all will be celebrated later this month at the UUA General Assembly in Minneapolis. If you have plans to be there, please join us for an array of Starr King presentations.
Dr. Parker will deliver two talks during the annual gathering, which runs June 23 to 27. Starr King provost, Dr. Ibrahim Farajajé, will offer the Starr King President’s Lecture on June 25.

Here’s a line-up of Starr King-related events:
- Thursday, June 24, 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. – Dr. Parker offers the John Murray Distinguished Lecture on “Connecting Beauty and Justice,” in the Minneapolis Convention Center, Room 208.
- Friday, June 25, 1 to 2:15 p.m. – Dr. Parker and Rev. Dr. John Buehrensdeliver the Beacon Press Lecture on the topic of their new book, “A House for Hope: Our Theological Foundation,” in the Convention Center,
- Friday, June 25, 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. – Dr.Ibrahim Farajajé, provost and professor of cultural studies and Islamic studies at Starr King, delivers the Starr King President’s Lecture on “Spiritual Fluidity: Towards Multi-Religious Thea/ological Education,” in the Convention Center, Room 200 A-B-I-J. (Dr. Parker will offer a response.)
Graduates and honorary degree recipients of the school are invited to attend the annual Graduates’ Reception on Friday, June 25, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Minneapolis Hilton, near the Convention Center. Rev. Keith Kron, a 1996 SKSM graduate, will speak. The graduates are honoring 20 years of Dr. Parker’s visionary leadership with special guest Rev. Peter Morales, president of the Unitarian Universalist Association.
