Interfaith Dialogue in Medical Settings: Bridging the Divide

Author: Kelly Ann Nelson

Nelson draws upon clinical case studies and testimonials from medical professionals to thoughtfully consider the application of interfaith dialogue as a holistic and sustaining measure for hospital environments. Navigating the complex entanglement of medicine and religion through a pluralistic lens, the article probes if interfaith dialogue can subvert individualism, build community, and deepen our human experience. While this piece is suited to both bolster and support chaplains of all religious backgrounds in understanding the value of and implementing interfaith dialogue, it is also relevant to those who work in multi-faith or inter-faith communities, as well as for those employed in the field of medicine.
