Biography

My first year and a half (of six) at Starr King has been extremely rewarding and meaningful, as I pursue an M.Div. and UU parish ministry. I live on the ancestral lands of the Dine, Apache, and Ute in Farmington, NM, where I work at a community college as director of continuing education. Farmington has significant environmental and social justice needs, providing an interesting community to apply SKSM’s ECO commitment. After living here for 25 years and actively pursuing outdoor experiences, I am still amazed to discover new local areas that take my breath away and feed my soul. My two children are in their twenties, and I adore my almost-three-year-old grandson. I have 20+ years of board experience, serving boards addressing local leadership, housing, senior concerns, a pre-school, and my local lay-led UU fellowship. I am by nature a bridge builder and connector, and I welcome the opportunity to serve Starr King as a student voice on the board.
