Lauren Martinez

Biography

Lauren Martinez is a dynamic facilitator, changemaker, and creative guide committed to building spaces where transformation, collaboration, and imagination thrive. They are dedicated to fostering meaningful connections and reimagining frameworks that center intersectionality, pluralism, and human-centered practices. Lauren’s work integrates the power of ritual and embodied indigenous diasporic epistemologies with strategic organizational development to cultivate and foster meaningful wholistic change in mind/heart/body. New to Starr King as an educator, they also serve as one of the main trainers, facilitators, executive coaches as the Director and Trainer at Change at Be the Change Consulting, a results-based organizational development firm located in Oakland, CA. Lauren supports a diverse client portfolio in youth development, systems change, antiracist capacity building, and strategic planning.  

They also mentor trans youth at the Trans Mentor Project based in New Jersey; a nationally recognized youth – centered and guided mentor-mentee organization. Lauren hosts trans and non-binary spiritually centered communal hangouts to support trans youth in empowering their spiritual leadership voice and journey. 

At the core of Lauren’s work is a belief in the power of co-creation in queering established systems of thought, policy, and relationship. They approach every encounter with a spirited, grounded enthusiasm that honors liminality and the interconnectedness of all beings.  

Lauren is a long-term practicing meditator, ceremonialist, tree hugger, and global traveler creatively seeking and exploring liberatory practices through music, movement, art and new age approaches to consciousness. They find joy in communing with Mama Gaia Pachamama, writing, and spending time with loved ones, including two beautiful young niblings.
