Date/Time
Date(s) - 12/01/2024
12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

Description

Thomas Starr King is often remembered for “keeping California in the Union.” Yet his impact was far more than political: it was religious, cultural, educational, environmental and philanthropic. Join lecturer Rev. Dr. John Buehrens for the first of several Starr King events aimed at celebrating Thomas Starr King’s 200th birthday by raising at least $200,000 for the school named for him. A light lunch will be provided prior to the lecture.

John Buehrens, in addition to serving as the 6th President of the UUA (1993-2001) has served the Starr King School as a trustee, faculty member, and friend. He retired in 2017 as Sr. Minister of First UU Society of San Francisco, which will host and co-sponsor this lecture.

We will gather in the Thomas Starr King Room at the First UU Society of San Francisco, as well as on Zoom. RSVP to Erica Toyama by November 25.
