Sonsiris earned her BA in Psychology and English Literature from the College of New Rochelle in New Rochelle, NY. Shortly after returning to the Bronx and working at Barnard College, she began to have mystical experiences leading her to join The Riverside Church and became part of the youth ministries’ leadership team. Discovering a call to theological education, Sonsiris moved across the country to pursue her MDiv from Pacific School of Religion and a Women’s Studies in Religion certificate from the Graduate Theological Union. She went on to earn a MA from Holy Names University in Culture and Spirituality. During her time at PSR she enjoyed taking many classes at SKSM.
Sonsiris is a priest in the Lukumi tradition, an Afro-Cuban religion based on the forces of nature called the Orishas and the presence of the ancestors. She is also ordained through The Renewal Church, an interspiritual Christian denomination.
Sonsiris’s technical background includes working in the healthcare and non-profits sectors using EPIC, Raiser’s edge, Luminate, Blackbaud software systems.
Sonsiris is thrilled to come full circle, back to Holy Hill, as part of the SKSM team assisting the next generation of seminary students. She looks forward to sharing her head and heart with the community.
