Kerry Brady, MA, SEP, is a trauma-informed educator, wilderness guide and deep ecologist who integrates Earth wisdom traditions, contemporary science and somatic resiliency work to support the sustained and embodied shift necessary to create a regenerative future. She is the founder and director of Ecology of Awakening, which offers programs that support us in individually and collectively dissolving our borders and discovering our deepest belonging—to ourselves, each other, the Earth and the greater mystery.
Kerry has more than 30 years of experience in transformational work and draws from the great wisdom traditions, ecology, somatic psychology, nature-based retreats, contemporary vision fasts, dreamwork, permaculture, ceremony and council practice. Kerry holds a Masters in Integral Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), where she is now adjunct faculty. Kerry and evolutionary philosopher Brian Swimme co-created their celebrated course, Nature and Eros, on living in participatory engagement within a living universe, and have taught it to graduate students at CIIS for 20 consecutive years.
Kerry received her Somatic Experiencing practitioner certification through the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute where she assists ongoing trainings. Kerry created and teaches Living Resiliency workshops at Occidental Arts and Ecology Center and elsewhere that weave together biologically based trauma work with permaculture principles and practices in order to increase our adaptive capacity as we navigate this extraordinary time of cultural and ecological transformation. Kerry trained in contemporary vision fast and rites of passage work with School of Lost Borders and Animas Valley Institute, where she served as faculty with depth psychologist Bill Plotkin.
