Kathleen Parker

Dr. Kathleen Parker lives in Pittsburgh, PA, where she teaches American history and Multicultural history of America at the University of Pittsburgh and LaRoche College. A member and active lay leader for fifteen years of the First Unitarian Church of Pittsburgh, she began researching  UU history and wrote two books: Sacred Service in Civic SpaceThree Hundred Years of Community Ministry in Unitarian Universalism (Meadville Lombard Press, 2007) and Here We Have GatheredThe Story of Unitarian Universalism in Western Pennsylvania(Ohio Meadville District, 2010).  She states: I came to this faith out of need for a place of liberal spiritual grounding, but it is the history of this faith that has enlivened my understanding of our deeper roots and our larger calling.  She has served on the Board of the UU History and Heritage Society since 2009 and is editor of the Journal of Unitarian Universalist History since 2010.
