Reverend Doctor Jim Sherblom is a transcendentalist, author, mystic, theologian, entrepreneur, social impact investor, company creator, venture capitalist, and spiritual pilgrim. Having grown up American Baptist in RI, the son of a Baptist minister, Jim joined the Unitarian Universalists in 1986. He holds a BA from Yale, an MBA from Harvard, and Masters of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Andover Newton Theological School. Jim was a founder of the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council and served as its president. His biotechnology industry roles include serving as senior vice president and CFO of Genzyme Corporation and as chairman and CEO of TSI Corporation. As founding managing partner of Seaflower Ventures, he has been involved in the creation or early investments in over two dozen early stage companies. As a parish minister he served as co-senior minister at First Parish in Brookline, MA. His greatest passion has been traveling with mystics in many religious traditions, which he writes about in his books. He lives a transcendental existence in Concord, Massachusetts, with his wife Loretta. Jim and Loretta are the proud parents of two grown children.
