Ian Slattery is a media maker and educator who works at the intersection of storytelling, strategy, and empowerment. He is passionate about empowering individuals and organizations to share their stories, spark action, and create a more just world. Ian is currently the Program Director and Senior Producer at CMAP TV, a nonprofit community media center in Gilroy, California, where he directs the organization’s youth media programs, media trainings, and video production services. As a video producer and editor, he has worked with over 50 nonprofit organizations, including: Unitarian Universalist Justice Ministry of California (Thirsty for Justice, 2013), International Accountability Project (River Defenders / Defensores de los Ríos, 2014), and the California Department of Public Health. With the Berkeley-based documentary company Luna Productions, Ian produced, directed or edited over 70 short videos for TeachingChannel.org and directed a four-year community engagement campaign for the the Emmy-nominated PBS documentarySoldiers of Conscience. He lives in Santa Cruz, California, with his wife Sarah and their dog Truly.
