We’re a great match in terms of our seriousness for theology, doctrine, scripture, and practice, but on totally opposite ends of the spectrum. In our doubting together, we have actually become stronger as individuals in our faith practices.” -Rev. Dana Trent
Starr King School for the Ministry presents:
Saffron Cross: A Story of Interfaith Marriage
5:30-7:00pm, March 7, 2017
At Starr King School for the Ministry
2441 Le Conte Ave.
Berkeley, CA 94709
Can a Christian and a Hindu, both ordained in their respective religious traditions, have a successful interfaith marriage? What are the most challenging aspects of this kind of partnership? Does interfaith marriage have its advantages over traditional marriage or partnerships?
Come meet Rev. Dana Trent and her husband Fred Eaker as they share the story of their relationship. Dana is a Baptist minister and Fred is a Vaishanava Hindu and ex-monk. The two met on eHarmony and began a fascinating, sometimes daunting but ultimately inspiring journey of interfaith marriage. Dana and Fred can tell you about an Indian ashram honeymoon, Sabbath-keeping, prayer, and grief, as well as other challenges and joys that accompany interfaith relationships. All are welcome to attend this free event!
