Dear Beloveds,
You are cordially invited to join the Starr King community in celebrating the graduating class of 2017!
Starr King 2017 Commencement
Thursday, May 18, 2017
7:15-9:00 p.m. PDT (reception to follow)
Mt. Diablo Unitarian Universalist Church
55 Eckley Lane, Walnut Creek, CA 94596
This year we will honor 16 graduates who have earned a Master of Divinity or a Master of Arts in Social Change, as well as Starr King’s Balazs Scholar, Rev. Ma. Theresa Gallardo Jr.
Our 2017 Honorary Degree Recipient is Glenna Matthews, Ph.D., historian, author, and SKSM Research Scholar. Her most recent book is The Golden State and the Civil War: Thomas Starr King, the Republican Party and the Birth of Modern California. She has been selected for embodying in a distinctive way what we at Starr King strive to teach through our emphasis on the Unitarian Universalist values of countering-oppressions and creating just and sustainable communities.
Please join us in honoring these hardworking graduates as they prepare to cross another threshold into the next chapter of their lives. Following the Commencement service will be a reception.
Feel free to invite a friend to our 2017 Commencement Facebook event and we look forward to sharing this very special evening with you!
Faithfully,
Starr King School for the Ministry!
