Are you passionate about embodiment? Do physical practices inform your Divine relationship? Do you wonder how you’ll integrate embodiment into your unfolding leadership and community worship?
If so (and if you’re part of the GTU community in some way) please join us Tuesday 10/20 in the Fireside Room at Starr King from 5:15-7pm for the 1st gathering of the Circle Around Embodiment. This will be a time of exploration, creative dialogue, and holy listening. Please come dressed to move, but remain open to stillness as a form of movement. Structure will be malleable and shaped by who shows up. Amelia Monteiro* will lead the 1st gathering; she looks forward to shared leadership as this project continues.
* Amelia Monteiro has been practicing yoga for 19 years and recently became a certified Bhakti yoga teacher after finding her yoga home in this tradition of “love, service, and devotion.” A former professional modern dancer in NYC, Amelia has studied many different movement styles/disciplines including: Pranayama, Qi Gong, Sema, Todd technique, Alexander technique, Gyrotonics, Somatic healing movement, choreography, and improvisation. She has been teaching Pilates for 11 years and is a Certifying Instructor for Pilates Academy International. Amelia is a 3rd year M. Div. student at SKSM. She looks forward to being ordained as an Interfaith minister in the fall of 2016 and to finding new ways to be of service to people on their own paths of love, healing, and discovery.
