Pedal power offers one of the best ways to commute in Berkeley, a city noted for its limited parking. BART (except for crowded trains or those highlighted in the schedule—see www.bart.gov) and nearly all AC Transit buses (excluding the 52 and 67 lines) provide a bike rack. Starr King offers a bike rack for students who find this mode of transportation an inexpensive, hassle-free solution.
Oakland International, about a 30-minute drive away (depending on time of day), is the closest airport to Starr King School. Transportation to and from the airport is available via BART and AC Transit.
In the city of Berkeley, parking spaces are limited and avidly sought by thousands of commuters who work at or attend Graduate Theological Union schools and the nearby University of California, Berkeley.
Starr King School sits within a zone that offers some metered parking for up to one hour, and un-metered street parking for up to two hours within a one-mile radius. Please note that Berkeley rigorously enforces its parking limits.
Spaces in the Starr King parking lot are reserved for faculty and staff. An accessible space is located on the street, directly in front of the school.
