Welcome from the President

Dear Ones—

Rev. Rosemary Bray McNatt

Rev. Rosemary Bray McNatt

I hope you’ll spend some time looking through our site and allow yourself the chance to imagine yourself entering seminary here. Our roots are deep in the fertile soil of Unitarian Universalism, and our branches embrace the multireligious life and learning that will matter most in this new century. Our membership in the Graduate Theological Union—the largest theological consortium in the world—is filled with opportunities for you to study with some of the best religious thinkers in the world. Our openness to the varieties of religious experience will help you to open your heart to what is holy, in both typical and unexpected places. When you graduate, you’ll join a roster of alumni that include the highest levels of leadership in our Unitarian Universalist Association, as well as community and social justice leaders across the globe.

For 111 years, we have prepared people for Unitarian Universalist ministry, and for progressive religious leadership in society. Not everyone is ready to follow The Starr King Way, but for those who are, it is the spiritual journey of a lifetime. Perhaps you’re one of these; if you are, I look forward to welcoming you to Berkeley, and to this extraordinary theological treasure.

The Rev. Rosemary Bray McNatt, President
