Sexual Misconduct & Student Safety

If you have been the victim of sexual misconduct, including sexual and gender-related: violence, assault, harassment, domestic violence, dating violence, or stalking, first get to a safe location.

SKSM encourages all members of the SKSM community to report these incidents to local law enforcement authorities and to seek medical attention as needed.

Incident(s) of possible sexual misconduct against SKSM students and employees, as well as prospective students and employees, perpretrated under the auspices of SKSM educational programs or related activities, should also be reported by emailing a written complaint to the Title IX Coordinator or Deputy Coordinator or by using the online reporting form.

SKSM’s Title IX Coordinators can assist persons who wish to make a report to law enforcement authorities if the persons so choose.

Please also note the SKSM Sexual Misconduct Policy Supplement in response to the Department of Education’s revisions to Title IX regulations effective August 14, 2020.

In accordance with DOE requirements, the Coordinator and Deputy Coordinator have participated in training for Title IX coordinators and investigators through a certificate program offered by NASPA, the professional organization for student affairs administrators in higher education. A copy of slides used during the training webinars has been posted for public viewing here. Certificates of completion for Dr. Christopher Schelin and Dr. Meg Richardson are also available.
