Welcome from Online Ed Director
I’m Cathleen Young, Starr King’s online education director. My job is to make it as easy as possible for you to find the right class, register for it, and get the most from your class experience. We have a fabulous array of course offerings, taught by exceptional scholars and ministers..
The 2014-2015 online courses make for an exciting schedule! See the course descriptions. General Registration for Spring Semester 2015 runs January 19 – 30, 2015. If you are a non-degree student (Special Student) planning to take an online course, check out our Special Students FAQ for helpful information.
Anyone can apply to take Starr King’s online courses. We welcome current degree-seeking students as well as those who are simply interested in the content of a particular class. If you are in the latter category and decide down the road to seek a degree, you can, in most cases, apply the online credits you earn toward your seminary degree.
Technologically speaking, all you need is a computer with internet access and some basic software – an internet browser, Adobe Acrobat Reader, an audio/video player. We’ll introduce you to Moodle, the web-based course management system we use, and you’ll be ready to roll. Starr King opened new doors into progressive/Unitarian Universalist theological education with its graduate-level certificate programs. There are two, and either certificate can be earned entirely online. It is also possible to meet the certificate requirements through a combination of online, residential and short intensive courses.

Please take a look around our site. If you have questions, e-mail or phone me. It would be my pleasure to help.
