Starr King School for the Ministry is proud to announce that Jessica Cloud will be serving as our new Vice President of Advancement.

Jessica Cloud is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) and has fifteen years of fundraising experience with an emphasis in annual fund solicitation—beginning in 2000 when she worked as a student caller with her alma mater, The University of Southern Mississippi. Jessica graduated from Southern Miss in 2003 with a bachelor’s in American Studies and has worked full-time in development since 2004.

In 2011, after working with RuffaloCODY and the University of South Carolina for five years, she returned to her alma mater, The University of

Southern Mississippi to administer a comprehensive annual giving program. In one year, she increased the total dollars raised by over 300%, and in three years she increased the number of first-time donors by 285%. During her tenure, the total number of yearly donors to the USM Foundation has increased from about 3,000 to over 8,000. In 2012, she launched the first faculty-staff giving campaign for Southern Miss, and employee giving rose from 10% to over 32% in three months. She has managed a variety of multi-million dollar fundraising campaigns for Southern Miss, from case development to donor recognition.

“I am so excited to begin working with Starr King,” said Jessica. “The world needs what Starr King’s graduates have to offer and I hope to help the school do all it can to support those students.”

Jessica resides in Hattiesburg, Mississippi with her husband Daniel Cloud, daughter Emmeline (5) and son Thomas (7 months). She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in English Literature at The University of Southern Mississippi. The family attends Our Home Unitarian Universalist Church in Ellisville, Mississippi.

We are proud and honored to welcome Jessica to the Starr King team and look forward to the work that awaits us.
